Victoria Memorial is the largest marble building in Kolkata. It was built in 1906. This palace is dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria(1809-1901). This is now a museum and a tourist spot in Kolkata. This was built in the British Raj. The construction was made by Rs.1 crore in those days. The architect of this memorial was William Emerson. Various styles of various territory mixtures in the design of this memorial. Various things are to see in this memorial. This is a very important architecture of Kolkata.
